Court to Hear Case Against Ahmed Suale's Alleged Killer Today

Accra, Ghana - 02 April, 2025 - Ghana's justice system takes a significant step forward today as Daniel Owusu Koranteng, the primary suspect in the murder of renowned investigative journalist Ahmed Suale, appears in court.
Koranteng's arrest and subsequent charges mark a crucial milestone in the pursuit of justice for Suale, who was brutally assassinated in January 2019.
As a key member of Tiger Eye PI's investigative team, Suale had earned a reputation for fearlessly exposing corruption in Ghana's highest echelons. His killing sparked widespread outrage and condemnation, both domestically and internationally.
The case has also highlighted concerns about press freedom and the safety of journalists in Ghana.
According to law enforcement sources, Koranteng, also known as Akwasi Amakye, was allegedly present near the crime scene at the time of the shooting. Suale was ambushed while driving and shot at close range by unknown assailants.
Koranteng faces charges of murder and betrayal, with reports suggesting he provided Suale's photographs to a politician linked to the crime.
