Accra, Ghana - 30 March, 2025 - Ghana's Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, has inaugurated a new eight-member board to oversee the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC), tasked with regulating public utilities nationwide.

The board, chaired by Professor Thomas Akabzaa, includes notable members such as Nana Yaa Jantuah, Prof. Ebenezer Bugri Anarfio, and Dr. Edna Agyepong.

In his remarks during the inauguration, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah emphasized the need for transparency in the regulation of public utilities, urging the new board to uphold these principles.

He stated that the government is committed to ensuring that the energy sector and other public utilities deliver excellent services to the people.
