The Black Stars' winning streak came to an end in a thrilling 1-1 draw against Chad in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier. Ghana took the lead in the 12th minute through Jordan Ayew's clinical finish from Mohammed Kudus' precise cross. However, the team failed to capitalize on numerous scoring opportunities, allowing Chad to snatch a point in the dying minutes of the game.

The Black Stars dominated the game but squandered several chances to seal the win. Antoine Semenyo had a glaring opportunity to score from a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper but skied his effort. Mohammed Kudus also produced an impressive curling shot that narrowly missed the top corner.

Chad's Celestine Ecua scored the equalizer in the 90th minute, capitalizing on a defensive lapse. His shot took a deflection off Caleb Yirenkyi and found its way into the back of the net, securing Chad's first point in six matches.

The Black Stars now turn their attention to their upcoming match against Mali on September 8 at the Accra Sports Stadium, aiming to bounce back to winning ways. Ghana currently tops Group I with 15 points, but the draw against Chad means they failed to extend their lead.
