FIFA Unveils Trio of Mascots for Historic 2026 World Cup: Meet Maple, Zayu, and Clutch

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to make history as the first tournament co-hosted by three nations: Canada, Mexico, and the United States. To celebrate this milestone, FIFA has unveiled a vibrant trio of mascots, each embodying the unique culture, heritage, and spirit of its host nation.

Meet the Mascots

- Maple the Moose: Representing Canada, Maple is a symbol of unity, diversity, and passion for the beautiful game. This street style-loving artist, music enthusiast, and dedicated goalkeeper embodies Canada's creativity and resilience.

- Zayu the Jaguar: Hailing from Mexico's southern jungles, Zayu represents agility, ingenuity, and the nation's rich traditions. With a name inspired by unity, strength, and joy, Zayu transforms into a striker on the pitch, showcasing exceptional skills and agility.

- Clutch the Bald Eagle: Soaring across the United States, Clutch embodies fearless energy, optimism, and leadership. This social spark and sports fanatic unites people wherever they go, proving that true flight is about purpose, passion, and play.

These mascots will be everywhere during the tournament, welcoming fans, inspiring young enthusiasts, and cheering on the action. They'll also be featured in various FIFA initiatives, including:

- FIFA Heroes: A new arcade-style, fast-paced five-a-side football game where players can build squads with FIFA World Cup mascots, football icons, and fictional characters. The game will launch in 2026 on multiple platforms.

- FIFA Super League Soccer on Roblox: The mascots will have their own quests, highlighting their roles on the pitch and featuring themed rewards.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino expressed his excitement about the mascots, saying, "The 26 team has just got bigger – and more fun! Maple, Zayu, and Clutch are full of joy, energy, and the spirit of togetherness, just like the FIFA World Cup itself." The tournament will feature 48 teams for the first time and take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026, with matches held across 16 host cities in the three nations.
