Angel Broadcasting Network Apologizes for Inaccurate Report on Gold Board

Accra, Ghana - 31 March, 2025 - Management of Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN), has issued a public apology for broadcasting incorrect information about the Gold Board, a newly established regulatory body overseeing the gold industry.

In a statement released on March 31, 2025, ABN acknowledged that aspects of their report were inaccurate and may have misrepresented the work of the Gold Board.

The network expressed deep regret for any misinformation caused by the report and assured the public of their commitment to upholding the highest standards of journalism, including accuracy and fairness.

The Gold Board was established by an Act of Parliament to regulate the gold industry, promote transparency, and increase foreign exchange earnings.

The Board's mandate includes managing the purchase, sale, and export of gold, as well as ensuring compliance with international standards.

ABN's apology comes amid growing concerns about the spread of misinformation in Ghana's media landscape. 

"Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN) extends its sincerest apologies to the government of Ghana, officials of the Gold Board, and all well-meaning citizens for the incorrect information recently aired regarding the mandate and activities of the Gold Board.

''Upon further verification,we acknowledge that aspects of our report were inaccurate and may have misrepresented the work of the Board. We deeply regret the information this report may have caused,'' portions of the statement read.
