Akwatia, September 2, 2025 - In a closely watched by-election, Bernard Bediako Baidoo of the National Democratic Congress,NDC has secured a decisive victory in Akwatia, delivering a key win for the governing party. The Electoral Commission's official results show Bediako polling 18,199 votes.

The NPP's Kwame Asumadu secured 15,235 votes, finishing second, while the LPG's Owusu Patrick trailed with 82 votes. A total of 33,819 ballots were deemed valid, with 303 rejected.

Voting took place across 119 polling stations in Akwatia on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, with polls officially closing at 5 p.m. Sorting and counting were conducted in the presence of party agents, security officers, and independent observers.
