Akufo-Addo hits the campaign trail in support of Bawumia, begins 3-day tour of Greater Accra Region today
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has launched a three-day campaign tour of the Greater Accra Region beginning today, December 1, as the country gears up for its presidential election on December 7, 2024.
The president's tour is aimed at rallying support for the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
As part of his itinerary, President Akufo-Addo will attend a thanksgiving service at the Anglican Church in Accra, where he will meet with party faithful and reaffirm his commitment to the NPP's vision for Ghana. He will also engage with traditional leaders in the Ga State, seeking their endorsement for Dr. Bawumia's candidacy.
The president's campaign tour comes at a critical juncture in Ghana's electoral process, with the December 7 polls expected to be highly contested. As the incumbent president, Akufo-Addo's endorsement of Dr. Bawumia is seen as a significant boost to the NPP's chances of retaining power.
