Our women bank will support female entrepreneurs- Prof. Opoku-Agyemang
The National Democratic Congress's (NDC) running mate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has confirmed her party's pledge to build a Women's Development Bank if elected.
Speaking at the NDC's manifesto launch on Saturday, August 24, in Winneba, the bank will boost female entrepreneurs who face barriers to receiving loans from financial institutions.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang stressed that the incoming NDC government will create jobs, lower financial barriers, and help female entrepreneurs grow their firms.
"The Women’s Development Bank will be established to empower female entrepreneurs and small business owners by providing low-interest loans, financial education and sustainable support."
“This initiative will create job opportunities and bring down the financial barriers that many women face when starting and sustaining businesses,” Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang said.
According to her, the initiative would boost the businesses of female entrepreneurs and curb the harassment they often face when seeking loans.
“Additionally, the bank will provide women-led businesses with advisory services and low-interest loans, further supporting their growth and success," she added.
