Voters Register: EC meets NDC, stakeholders at IPAC meeting today
Accra, Ghana - The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) has convened an emergency Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting today, October 1, 2024, to address growing concerns about the integrity of the Voters' Register.
The meeting comes amid mounting pressure from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for a forensic audit of the register.
At the Accra meeting, the EC will engage with representatives from various political parties to discuss measures aimed at rectifying errors and discrepancies in the register.
Key issues on the agenda include:
- Rectifying unauthorized voter transfers
- Addressing concerns about register integrity
- Online exhibition of the Provisional Voters' Register
- Building consensus for a robust register ahead of the December 7 polls
