Mahama sounds alarm to NDC supporters, 'don't get complacent despite positive Fitch, Global InfoAnalytics polls'

North East Region, Ghana - National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama has reacted to recent polls predicting his lead in the 2024 general elections.

According to a report by Fitch Solutions, a UK-based rating agency, the NDC is poised to win the elections.

A final field poll conducted by Global InfoAnalytics also shows Mahama maintaining a commanding 29% lead over Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

While touring the North East Region on October 2, Mahama highlighted the strong likelihood of the NDC securing victory, citing polls from reputable organizations like Fitch Solutions and Global InfoAnalytics.

However, he cautioned his supporters against complacency, emphasizing the need for vigilance throughout the electoral process.

Mahama also accused the NPP of orchestrating fake polls to create a false narrative of victory for their presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

“All the credible opinion polls have predicted that NDC is going to win the elections, and because of that NPP and the government have started publishing fake opinion polls, that have no methodology, opinion polls where you cannot find the people who did the research,'' he stated.

“And so, ignore all those fake opinion polls, everything indicates and every credible institution-  Economy Intelligence Unit, Fitch Solutions, Global InfoAnyalitics, every proper, credible opinion poll shows that NDC is going to win the elections.''

“Of course, we must not be complacent, we must protect every single person’s vote. All of us are going to be polling agents,'' he added.

This comes as a recent Global InfoAnalytics survey showed approximately 70% of voters do not believe the NPP can win the 2024 election, whilst 19% believe the party can and 10% have no opinion.
