There is no need for Mahama to debate Bawumia – Kofi Adams

Member of Parliament for Buem constituency, Kofi Adams believes that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer's debate with Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is entirely needless.

According to him, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer would only disgrace himself because he and President Akufo-Addo had failed to keep their commitments to Ghanaians.

Speaking on JoyNews' Newsfile, he noted that despite Dr Bawumia's numerous statements that he was an economic messiah and head of the economic management team, the current economic situations have demonstrated that he is unable of handling any situation.

"I am saying today that my position today, is that there is no need in debating,” he remarked.

He claimed that Mr Mahama had demonstrated his ability to manage the country's affairs, and his track record was evident to all.

Mr Adams further stated that if the NDC flagbearer chooses to debate, the party will rally behind him.

His comments come as the Bawumia camp pushes for a debate between the two top presidential candidates ahead of the 2019 elections.
