"Stop comparing Mahama’s previous government to this current administration"– Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang
The running mate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang asked critics to stop comparing John Mahama's administration to the current government.
Speaking at the party's campaign launch in Tamale, she underscored the folly of such comparisons while highlighting Mr. Mahama's fresh policy initiatives.
“Those who make comparisons, you don’t compare different things. Don’t compare his performance or achievement to what this current government is giving us. It is like comparing cassava to oranges. There is no commonality among them,” she said.
According to her, despite having previously served in government and being far from faultless, Mr. Mahama did his best.
“I want to thank the entire Northern section of our country for giving the NDC, and Ghana, a person who prioritizes truth over lies, a person who doesn’t give false promises. We have tried him. He has been off the radar, reflected on what is going on, and he is coming with new policies,” she stated.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang praised the former president’s continuous dedication to the nation despite earlier setbacks. She also urged all NDC supporters to unite behind John Mahama and fight hard to keep the country from regressing.
"When all of us have supported in doing the hard work, this country will not return to such a status again,” she concluded.
