Saglemi Housing Project Revival: Two bidders shortlisted

Saglemi, Ghana - After months of stagnation, the Saglemi Housing Project is finally gaining momentum. Following a rigorous evaluation process, two preferred bidders have been shortlisted for final negotiations to complete the long-abandoned project.

Deloitte Ghana, the transaction advisors, have notified the Government of Ghana that either of the two firms may be selected after negotiations. Initially, 10 firms expressed interest in partnering with the government, but only five submitted bids by the July 2024 deadline.

Housing Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah assured that the government will remain focused and meticulous in the transaction.

The Saglemi Housing Project, initially valued at $200 million, aimed to provide 5,000 affordable housing units. However, by January 2017, only 1,506 units were completed or under construction, despite $197 million already paid to contractors.
