Parliament moves fifth session to AICC dome on October 15

Accra, Ghana - Ghana's Parliament is set to commence its fifth meeting of the fourth session on October 15, 2024, at the Dome of the Accra International Conference Centre.

The relocation is necessary due to ongoing renovation works in the main chamber of Parliament, which usually hosts parliamentary sessions.

Speaker Alban Bagbin notified Members of Parliament about the reconvening through a statement issued on September 30, 2024.

This upcoming meeting is part of the legislative calendar and is expected to tackle key national issues.

In a recent emergency sitting at the Dome, Parliament approved a $250 million loan agreement from the World Bank to support the Ghana Energy Sector Recovery Programme.

This facility was initially disapproved before the parliamentary recess and was a primary reason for Parliament's recall on September 3.
