Paris Olympics: Team Ghana wears BATAKARI at Opening Ceremony
For the opening ceremony, members of Ghana's delegation to the 2024 Olympic Games will dress in traditional African smocks or "Batakari". The 2024 Games will be held in France's capital, Paris, from July 26 to August 11, with the Paralympic Games taking place from August 28 to September 8.
The opening ceremony is scheduled for 18:00 GMT, with country delegations being presented on boats floating down the Seine River past iconic buildings such as the Grand Palais.
Team Ghana’s Men’s 4×100 Relay Team
Unlike past Olympics, where Team Ghana wore popular Kente costume, this year's athletes will wear the equally popular Batakari garment. Ghana will field eight participants in the tournament, down from 14 in Tokyo for the 2020 Olympics.
