NDC seeks talk with EC over Voter register discrepancies
Fifi Kwetey is the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)

Accra, Ghana - The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has formally requested an emergency meeting with the Electoral Commission (EC) to address "very serious discrepancies" uncovered during the ongoing voter exhibition exercise.

In a letter signed by General Secretary Fifi Kwetey, the NDC expressed urgent concerns over the integrity of the provisional voter register, citing a comprehensive analysis that revealed numerous discrepancies.

The party is seeking an immediate meeting with the EC to discuss and rectify these issues, which have raised concerns about the credibility of the electoral process.

The voter exhibition exercise, which commenced on August 20 and is scheduled to conclude on August 27, aims to allow citizens to verify their registration details. However, the NDC's findings suggest that the process has been marred by significant errors and inconsistencies.

The NDC's demands come at a critical juncture in the electoral calendar, with the country gearing up for national elections. The party's concerns have sparked fears about the potential impact of these discrepancies on the electoral outcome.

The EC is yet to respond to the NDC's request, but the commission has assured stakeholders of its commitment to a transparent and credible electoral process.
