NDC promises to prosecute Hawa Koomson over alleged failed policies
The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has vowed to prosecute the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East Mavis Hawa Koomson, over failed policies executed by the Ministry of Special Development Initiative (MSDI).
According to the NDC, these measures have caused the state to incur huge financial losses.
Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Mustapha Gbande, has stated that a future NDC government will thoroughly investigate initiatives such as the One-Village-One-Dam project and the Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Programme (IPEP), which were intended to provide communities with potable water and modernized toilet facilities.
Gbande argued that the NPP may have utilized the ministry as a conduit to transfer state monies, emphasizing the importance of tracing the financial losses associated with these programs, notably the One-Village-One-Dam initiative.
In addition to the alleged financial mismanagement, Gbande claimed that a future NDC administration will prosecute Hawa Koomson for acts of violence allegedly directed at NDC members in Kasoa.
He listed incidences such as the gunfire and motorcycle attacks at the Steps to Christ registration center in 2020, as well as the gunshot on December 7, 2020, which injured three persons, as examples of cases that will be fully examined and dealt.
