NDC chairman formally submits Mahama's presidential Nomination forms
Accra, Ghana - September 9, 2024 - Former President John Dramani Mahama has officially submitted his nomination forms for the 2024 presidential election, marking a significant step in his bid to return to the highest office in Ghana.
The submission took place at the Electoral Commission (EC) headquarters in Accra, where a prominent delegation from the National Democratic Congress (NDC), led by National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, presented Mahama's forms.
Asiedu Nketiah raised concerns about the ongoing electoral process, cautioning the EC to be a fair arbiter.
He expressed the party's serious concerns with the voter register, but assured that the NDC will continue to engage the election management body to ensure the right things are done ahead of the December 7 polls.
The submission of Mahama's forms follows that of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who filed his forms earlier in the day.
Other presidential candidates, including Dr. Hassan Ayariga, Samuel Apea-Danquah, George Twum Barima Adu, Nana Kwame Bediako, and Kofi Akpaloo, also submitted their nomination forms on Monday.
The next phase will involve the review and verification of the nomination forms by the EC, setting the stage for the December elections.
