Mpraeso SHS Rape Case: Court remands five students

Mpraeso, Ghana - October 18, 2024 - A Mpraeso Magistrate Court has remanded five students from Mpraeso Senior High School into police custody for allegedly raping a 17-year-old female student. 

The court, presided over by His Worship Anthony Owusu, ordered the students to be held until November 1, 2024, pending further investigations.

The court also issued a summons for the headmaster of Mpraeso SHS to appear before it on October 25, 2024, to provide information on the incident.

According to reports, the five students allegedly raped the victim on campus, sparking widespread outrage and concern. The police have launched an investigation into the incident and have assured that justice will be served.

The case has been adjourned to November 1, 2024, for further hearing.
