GRIDCo, ECG address power outages, promises quick fix

Accra, Ghana - The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) and Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) have addressed the recent power supply disruptions affecting various regions, citing challenges at the Ghana National Gas Limited Company's (GNGC) Gas Processing Plant in Atuabo.

According to a joint statement, reduced gas supply from GNGC has impacted power generation, resulting in intermittent outages. Engineers from GNGC are working diligently to resolve the issue and restore full gas supply.

GRIDCo and ECG apologized for the inconvenience caused and urged the public to remain patient as efforts are underway to minimize further disruptions.

"We apologise unreservedly for the inconveniences caused to the public as a result of this challenge," the statement read.

Additionally, ECG announced a scheduled maintenance exercise for Thursday, September 26, in parts of Accra. The company will notify affected areas in advance.
