East Legon Tragedy: Bishop Salifu Amoako, Wife granted bail
Accra, Ghana - October 16, 2024 - An Accra High Court has granted bail to Bishop Salifu Amoako and Mouha Amoako, parents of Elrad Amoako, whose reckless driving resulted in a fatal crash at East Legon, claiming two lives. Linda Bempah, a sales assistant, was also granted bail.
The parents, charged with permitting an unlicensed person to drive, admitted to allowing their son to drive despite knowing he was unlicensed. Prosecution revealed that Linda Bempah gave Elrad the keys to the Jaguar car owned by Mouha Amoako.
The defense argued for bail, citing fixed addresses, employment, and no intention to interfere with investigations. Despite prosecution's request for stringent conditions, the judge granted bail at GHc 50,000 each.
The accused are expected to make themselves available for trial.
