Bawumia promises to transform Sege's fishing hub
Sege, Ghana - Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has promised to construct a sea defence system and a mini harbour for the people of Sege if he becomes Ghana's next President.
This promise aims to address the devastating impact of tidal waves that have plagued Sege and its surroundings for years, while also boosting economic growth by upgrading infrastructure for the local fishing industry.
Speaking during his tour of the Greater Accra Region, Bawumia stressed the urgent need for development in Sege, highlighting its strategic position as a fishing hub.
He emphasized that critical infrastructure is necessary to safeguard residents' livelihoods and enable the community to thrive economically.
“We need a mini-harbour. So we are going to work on bringing a mini harbour to Sege here for you and that is a very important thing. And then, of course, very important, we need to do the sea defence for this area," he stated.
“So I have a lot to do for you. If I come back in four years, I will have to give an account of what I have done with the sea defence," he added.
