$400m was spent on Agenda 111 with zero hospitals completed - Mahama

Parliament House/Accra, Ghana - 27 Feb, 2025 - Ghana's Agenda 111 hospital project has been marred by inefficiency, with a staggering $400m spent without a single facility fully operational, President John Dramani Mahama has revealed.
In his maiden State of the Nation Address, President Mahama exposed the shortcomings of the ambitious healthcare initiative, which aimed to construct 111 hospitals nationwide to bridge Ghana's healthcare infrastructure gap.
According to him, despite the significant financial investment, the project has failed to deliver, with not a single hospital completed and operational. President Mahama noted that the $400m spent could have facilitated the completion of at least 22 hospitals if resources had been utilized efficiently.
“It is worth disclosing that USD400m has already been disbursed under agenda 111 project,” President Mahama disclosed.
