Women Empowerment is Central to Our Agenda- Ofosu-Adjare
Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare is Minister Designate for Trade, Industry and Agribusiness

Accra, Ghana - 22 Jan, 2025 - Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Minister-designate for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, has emphasized the importance of gender equality in national development during her parliamentary vetting on Wednesday.

She reiterated her dedication to supporting women-led businesses, recognizing their crucial role in driving economic growth and improving livelihoods.

According to her, the NDC government plans to implement initiatives, policies, and laws to promote women-led businesses, including the Affirmative Action Law within the Trade Ministry.

To address the underrepresentation of women in leadership, Mrs. Ofosu-Adjare proposed a mentoring program, aiming to foster a network of established women leaders and emerging entrepreneurs.

“Women empowerment is central to the John Dramani Mahama administration’s development agenda,” she stated.

“Specific initiatives, policies and laws will be implemented to uplift women-led businesses, enabling them to thrive and contribute meaningfully to the economy.”

“There may not be too many women at the top, but those who are there can serve as mentors. This program will help young women entrepreneurs grow, scale up, and navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship,” she explained.
