UHAS Renamed After Late President Mills in Tribute to His Legacy
Ho, Volta Region - 28 May, 2025 - The University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in Ho has been renamed the Professor John Evans Atta Mills University of Health and Allied Sciences, in honour of the late President John Evans Atta Mills.
The Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, made the announcement during the inauguration of the university's new Governing Council at the Ministry on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.
The university's renaming honors President Mills' crucial contribution to UHAS' establishment and his tireless efforts to enhance Ghana's health and education sectors, leaving a lasting legacy.
Prof. Kodzo Gavua, the Council Chair, endorsed the decision, reiterating the university's pledge to academic distinction and national development.
