Speaker of Parliament Inaugurates Parliamentary Northern Caucus to Promote Regional Development
Northern Region - 27 June, 2025 - Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin has taken a significant step towards promoting coordinated development in Northern Ghana with the inauguration of the Northern Caucus of the Ninth Parliament.
The caucus aims to drive progress in key areas such as healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, and culture, working closely with Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), traditional authorities, and development partners.
The move is seen as a strategic effort to address the development challenges facing the region, which has historically lagged behind the rest of the country in terms of infrastructure, economic development, and access to basic services.
The Northern Caucus is expected to play a crucial role in shaping policy and advocating for the needs of the region. By working with MDAs, CSOs, and traditional authorities, the caucus aims to ensure that the region receives the attention and resources it needs to drive development and improve the lives of its citizens.
