Teshie ,Ghana – August 24,2025 – In a dramatic turn of events, Ghanaian dancehall sensation Shatta Wale has undergone a spiritual cleansing ritual at the Teshie Next Door Beach, just days after his release from Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) custody.

The cleansing ceremony, led by the revered Teshie Gbuglah Mantse, Nii Martey Laryea I.I, aimed to purify the musician's spirit and ward off negative energies.

According to eyewitnesses, Shatta Wale arrived at the beach in the early hours of Sunday August 24,2025, clad in traditional attire, and participated in a series of rituals designed to cleanse his spirit. The ceremony involved prayers, chanting, and sacred offerings to ancestral spirits, all intended to restore balance and positivity to the musician's life.

The ritual, performed by the traditional priest, also involved the pouring of libation and smashing of a bottle of schnapps on the ground, a traditional gesture meant to invoke ancestral blessings and protection.

Shatta Wale was detained at the EOCO headquarters over an investigation into his luxury vehicle, a Lamborghini Urus, and alleged money laundering, tax evasion, tax fraud, and possession of proceeds of crime.

The cleansing ritual is believed to be a way of seeking spiritual redemption and protection from negative energies. In an interview, Shatta Wale expressed gratitude to his fans and EOCO officials, including the Executive Director, Raymond Archer, for the manner in which his case was handled. He described Archer's gesture as considerate.

Shatta Wale's fans showed solidarity during his detention, gathering at the EOCO headquarters to demand his release. Some fans and critics took to social media to express their views, with some condemning the ritual and others criticizing the lack of support from fellow musicians. Music executive and artiste manager Ricky Nana Agyemang, also known as Bullet, described the arrest as a "witch-hunt" against the artiste.

After being detained for less than 24 hours, Shatta Wale was granted bail with revised conditions. Initially, the bail was set at GH₵10 million with two sureties, but it was later reduced to GH₵5 million. As part of the revised terms, the musician is required to report to EOCO three times weekly while investigations continue.

In a live TikTok session after his release, Shatta Wale thanked his fans for their support.
