Sammy Gyamfi in Hot Water as Chief of Staff Summons him Over Cash Gift to Nana Agradaa

Accra, Ghana - 12 May, 2025 - Ghana's Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, has summoned the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi, to explain a controversial cash donation to Patricia Oduro Koranteng, also known as Nana Agradaa, a former fetish priestess-turned-evangelist.

The donation, reportedly in US dollars, was captured on video and widely shared on social media, sparking public outrage and concerns over Gyamfi's judgment as a public official.

The meeting with Debrah comes after Gyamfi's public apology, where he described the donation as a "private act of kindness" that unintentionally went public.

However, the incident has raised questions about Gyamfi's adherence to President John Dramani Mahama's Code of Conduct for Public Officials, which emphasizes integrity, accountability, and transparency.

The controversy surrounding Nana Agradaa's past and her current public profile has further complicated the situation, with many questioning Gyamfi's association with her.

According to reports, the Chief of Staff is treating the matter with urgency, given the potential reputational risks for the government.
