Randy Abbey Pledges Support for Cocoa Farmers while on Familiarization Tour{In-Pictures}

Bunso, Eastern Region, Ghana - 31 Jan, 2025 - The Acting Chief Executive of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Dr. Ransford Abbey, has reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining Ghana's cocoa sector.

During a familiarization tour of key stakeholders in the industry, Dr. Abbey visited the Bunso Cocoa College, the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG), and COCOBOD's Eastern Regional Office.

He praised the institutions for their contributions to the sector, particularly CRIG's groundbreaking research, which has driven innovation in cocoa production.

Dr. Abbey assured management and staff that he would prioritize their welfare and introduce policies to support their work, recognizing their crucial role in the long-term growth and sustainability of the industry.

As the world's second-largest cocoa producer, Ghana's cocoa sector is a significant contributor to the country's economy. COCOBOD's efforts to sustain the sector are seen as critical to the country's economic development.
