GNPC, Vitol Partner to Boost Ghana's Oil Production
Accra, Ghana - 31 Jan, 2025 - The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with Vitol, a leading global energy trader, to optimize Ghana's oil and gas production.
This development comes as Ghana's production levels continue to decline, making it crucial to maximize output and fully utilize existing infrastructure.
According to GNPC's Acting CEO, Edward Abambanire Bawa, Vitol has been a key player in Ghana's upstream sector since 2006 and has expressed confidence in the industry's potential. He added that the collaboration will focus on maximizing output and fully utilizing existing infrastructure.
In a meeting at the GNPC headquarters in Tema, the two entities have agreed to work together to optimize existing fields, unlock new investment opportunities, and enhance production efficiency through existing FPSO facilities.
The partnership aims to accelerate the development of additional reserves, ensuring that Ghana's hydrocarbon resources are leveraged effectively to drive economic growth and energy security.
