'President Mahama's X Account has been Hacked' - Cyber Security Authority

Accra, Ghana - 18 March, 2025 - A cybersecurity breach has compromised the official X account of Ghana's President John Dramani Mahama, sparking widespread concern over the security of high-profile political figures' online presence.
The unauthorized access, detected on Monday, March 17, was used to promote a suspicious cryptocurrency scheme known as Solanafrica, falsely claiming ties to the Solana blockchain and promising seamless transactions across Africa.
The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has confirmed the breach in a statement, assuring that a thorough investigation is underway in collaboration with X and other stakeholders to address the issue and prevent future occurrences.
The CSA has urged the public to disregard any unauthorized posts from the account until it is fully restored.
This incident raises questions about the vulnerability of social media accounts held by prominent political figures, highlighting the need for robust security measures to protect against cyber threats.
The Ghanaian government has pledged to take swift action to recover the account and ensure the President's online presence is secured.
