President Mahama to Launch 'Adwumawura' Programme on April 28

Accra, Ghana - 24 April, 2025 - President John Dramani Mahama is set to launch the Adwumawura Programme, a flagship initiative of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), aimed at empowering young entrepreneurs and stimulating economic growth by creating and mentoring at least 10,000 businesses annually, at the Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi on Monday, April 28, 2025.
The Adwumawura Programme is aimed at facilitating the creation, tracking, and mentoring of at least 10,000 businesses annually, with a special focus on young people.
According to Mahama's manifesto, the Adwumawura Programme is designed to support young entrepreneurs in setting up and growing their businesses. This initiative is complemented by other programs such as the National Apprenticeship Programme, which provides free technical and vocational training for young people, and the Digital Jobs Initiative, a $3 billion investment to leverage ICT for job creation.
The Adwumawura Programme's focus on youth entrepreneurship aligns with Mahama's 24-Hour Economy policy, which aims to transform Ghana into an import-substitution and export-led economy.
This policy promises increased employment opportunities, productivity, and revenue, with strategic investments in infrastructure, security, and energy.
