Police Nab Suspect with 92 Slabs of Indian Hemp in Akatsi

Akatsi,  Volta Region, Ghana - 10 May, 2025 - The Ghana Police Service has arrested a suspect, Bukari Yakubu, for possession of suspected Indian hemp and stolen motorbikes.

The arrest was made at Yakubu's residence in Akatsi, Volta Region, on Saturday, May 10, 2025, following an intelligence-led operation.

According to the police, a search of Yakabu's residence led to the retrieval of 92 slabs of suspected Indian hemp and two Royal motorbikes believed to be stolen. During preliminary questioning, Yakubu admitted ownership of the items.

The police investigation suggests that Yakubu has been involved in narcotics dealing in Akatsi and surrounding areas.

He is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations, and will face court proceedings , according to the police.
