New York ,September 24,2025 - President John Dramani Mahama made a historic stop at the NASDAQ stock exchange in New York, ringing the closing bell as part of his high-profile visit to the United States.

The President's visit to NASDAQ is part of a broader effort to strengthen economic cooperation between Ghana and the United States. Ahead of the U.S.-Ghana Executive Business Roundtable, organized by the US Chamber of Commerce and the Ghana Investment Promotions Centre, President Mahama met with the U.S.-Africa Chamber of Commerce to discuss opportunities for trade and investment.

Ghana is positioning itself as a prime destination for global investment, with a focus on sectors such as agro-processing, light manufacturing, technology services, and natural resources. The country's rich agricultural resources, skilled workforce, strategic location, and significant gold and lithium reserves make it an attractive destination for investors.

President Mahama's delegation includes senior officials, such as Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, Minister for Foreign Affairs Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Minister for Trade Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, and CEO of Ghana Investment Promotions Centre Simon Madjie.

The President's visit to NASDAQ and meetings with U.S. business leaders have significant economic implications for Ghana.
