Odorgonor SHS Students Protest Faulty Traffic Lights
Accra, Ghana - 24 Feb, 2025 - Students of Odorgonor Senior High School in Accra, Ghana, staged a protest on Monday, February 24, to demand urgent attention to faulty traffic lights and streetlights near their school.
The demonstration, which temporarily disrupted traffic, was sparked by growing safety concerns and the tragic loss of a staff member.
According to reports, the malfunctioning traffic signals have led to numerous near-miss accidents, with vehicles speeding past the school's entrance unchecked. The students are calling on authorities to take swift action to prevent further casualties.
“Our security man has died because there’s no traffic light here. We call on the government to swiftly intervene,'' one of the protesting students told Citi News.
