Michael Kpakpo Allotey Unanimously Confirmed as AMA Mayor after Securing 100% Votes

Accra, Ghana - 06 May, 2025 - The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has a new Chief Executive, Michael Kpakpo Allotey, who was unanimously confirmed by Assembly Members during a Special General Assembly Meeting at the Accra City Hall.

Allotey secured all 30 valid votes, representing 100% of the total, surpassing the required two-thirds majority under the Local Governance Act.

Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo, oversaw the voting process and urged Assembly Members to uphold their constitutional mandate, emphasizing the strategic importance of AMA as the center of Greater Accra.

After his confirmation, Allotey thanked President John Dramani Mahama for the appointment and expressed gratitude to God.

He is now set to lead the AMA, working to drive progress and development in the metropolitan area.
