Mahama names Prosper Bani National Security Advisor, Kofi Boakye Director of Operations, Kipo as NIB Boss
Accra, Ghana - 15 Jan, 2025 - President John Dramani Mahama has appointed former Chief of Staff, Prosper Douglas Bani, as National Security Advisor, bringing his extensive experience as a former Minister for the Interior to the role.
To ensure a cohesive security strategy, DCOP Abdul-Osman Razak has been appointed National Security Coordinator. Additionally, COP Nathan Kofi Boakye, a retired police commissioner, will oversee operational effectiveness in security matters as the Director of Operations at the Presidency.
In a statement issued on 15 Jan, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Secretary to the President stated that Charles Kipo has also been appointed Director General of the National Intelligence Bureau, further solidifying President Mahama's commitment to enhancing national security and ensuring citizen safety.
These appointments come on the heels of President Mahama's reaffirmed commitment to resolving the protracted conflict in Bawku, a region plagued by decades of instability.
