Mahama challenges Bawumia on job creation promises, demands action on NABCO debts

Accra, Ghana - Nov 5, 2024 - John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has criticized the current administration's handling of the economy and promised to bring about change.

Mahama questioned the credibility of Bawumia's promise, citing the government's unfulfilled job creation commitments, particularly to former Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) trainees.

At a rally in Kwamikrom, Biakoye constituency, during his Oti Regional tour, Mahama emphasized that Bawumia should first address the outstanding NABCO debts, which include several months of unpaid allowances.

“The governing NPP promised to provide jobs for the NABCO trainees after completion. It has been over three years and that has not happened. The allowances they also promised them during the training have not been paid.

“It is really sad because all attempts by the trainees to have their concerns addressed have been unsuccessful. If indeed Dr. Bawumia is committed to providing jobs for the youth, he should first address their concerns.”
