Mahama Appoints Seth Terkper as Presidential Advisor on Economy
Accra, Ghana - 21 Jan, 2025 - Ghana's economic landscape is set to benefit from the expertise of former Finance Minister, Seth Terkper, who has been appointed as the Presidential Advisor on the Economy.
This strategic move is aimed at navigating the country's economic challenges, including rising inflation, public debt concerns, and currency depreciation.
As Presidential Advisor, Mr. Terkper will provide strategic guidance to the President on key economic issues, including fiscal policy, debt management, and economic recovery strategies. He will work closely with the Finance Minister-designate, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, to develop and implement economic policies that promote sustainable growth and stability.
Mr. Terkper brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as Minister of Finance from 2013 to 2017. During his tenure, he implemented significant fiscal reforms, negotiated a credit facility with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and introduced policies to address energy sector debt.
