Mahama Appoints Adam Mutawakilu as GWCL Acting CEO
Accra, Ghana - 24 Jan, 2025 - Ghana's President John Mahama has appointed Adam Mutawakilu, a former MP for Damongo, as the acting CEO of Ghana Water Company Limited.
This move is subject to approval by the GWL Governing Board, in consultation with the Public Services Commission, as stipulated in the constitution.
Mr. Mutawakilu's appointment took effect on January 22, 2025, according to a statement released by Dr. Callistus Mahama, Executive Secretary to the President. President Mahama congratulated Mr. Mutawakilu on his new role and requested a formal acceptance within 14 days.
As acting CEO, Mr. Mutawakilu will oversee the operations of Ghana Water Company Limited, a key player in the country's water sector. The appointment is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the leadership of the company and ensure the effective delivery of water services to Ghanaians.
