Labadi Beach Hotel Wins Court Battle Against Blays
In a significant development, Labadi Beach Hotel has secured a court injunction against the Blays, paving the way for the hotel to reclaim its beachfront property. This move is seen as a major victory for the hotel, which had been embroiled in a dispute with the Blays.
Background of the Dispute
The dispute centered around a portion of the hotel's property, which had been allegedly encroached upon by Spartan Ives Limited, operators of Polo Beach Club. The hotel's owners, Hotel Investments (Ghana) Limited, initiated legal action to reclaim the disputed land.
Court Ruling
The Land Division of the High Court in Accra granted an interim injunction in favor of Labadi Beach Hotel on December 19, 2024. The injunction prohibits Spartan Ives Limited and its affiliates from trespassing on 0.54 acres of the hotel's property.
Meanwhile, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Chairman of anti-corruption committee, Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL), hailed the court's decision as a triumph over "State Capture."
In a Facebook post, he expressed gratitude to the Ghanaian people for voting for change, which he believes enabled the hotel to take back its property. Ablakwa vowed to recover all "loot" associated with the dispute.
