KGL Group and Office of Diaspora Affairs Partner for National Development

Accra, Ghana - 09 March, 2025 - In a bid to bolster relations with its diaspora community, Ghana's Director of Diaspora Affairs, Kofi Okyere Darko, has met with Mr. Alex Dade, Executive Chairman of KGL Group, a leading Ghanaian conglomerate.
The meeting, held at Mr. Dade's office in Accra, aimed to explore avenues for meaningful diaspora engagement and identify opportunities for investment, education, healthcare, and the development of the Orange Economy.
During the meeting, Mr. Okyere Darko and Mr. Dade discussed strategies for harnessing the potential of the diaspora community to drive economic growth, improve education and healthcare outcomes, and promote cultural exchange. Mr. Okyere Darko praised Mr. Dade's pioneering role in promoting diaspora engagement in Ghana, affectionately referring to him as the "Father of Diaspora in Ghana".
The meeting marked the beginning of a collaborative effort between the Office of Diaspora Affairs and KGL Group to leverage the expertise and resources of the diaspora community to drive national development. This partnership is expected to yield significant benefits for Ghana, including increased investment, improved economic outcomes, and enhanced cultural exchange.
Ghana has been actively seeking to engage its diaspora community in recent years, recognizing the significant contributions they can make to the country's development. The government has implemented several initiatives aimed at fostering closer ties with the diaspora, including the "Year of Return" campaign, which attracted thousands of people of African descent to visit Ghana in 2019.
The meeting between Mr. Okyere Darko and Mr. Dade is a significant step forward in Ghana's efforts to strengthen its diaspora ties.
