Kamaldeen Sulemana Leaves Southampton for Atalanta in €21.5m Deal

Ghanaian footballer Kamaldeen Sulemana is set to join Italian Serie A side Atalanta in a deal worth up to €21.5 million. The 22-year-old winger, currently on holiday in Accra, is expected to undergo a medical examination in Bergamo, Italy, as part of the transfer process.

Sulemana, who began his professional career with FC Nordsjælland in Denmark, has played for Stade Rennais in France and Southampton in the Premier League. He joined Southampton in January 2023 for a club-record fee and made 26 appearances, scoring once.

Atalanta's interest in Sulemana is attributed to his pace, dribbling ability, and versatility on the left wing. The Italian side is strengthening its attacking options ahead of the 2025/26 season and believes Sulemana's skills will be a valuable addition to their squad.

The deal, valued at €17.5 million with potential add-ons of up to €4 million, also includes a 15% sell-on clause for Southampton. Sulemana's move to Atalanta is expected to provide him with new opportunities to showcase his talent in European competitions.
