Justin Kodua Slams NDC: Galamsey, LGBTQ+, and Job Losses Under Fire
New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong

Accra, Ghana – 19 July, 2025 -The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has launched a scathing attack on the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), accusing the administration of failing to deliver on its promises. Speaking at the NPP's National Delegates Conference in Accra, Mr. Frimpong criticized President John Dramani Mahama's government for rising economic hardship, worsening illegal mining (galamsey), and political victimization through mass dismissals in public institutions.

Mr. Frimpong also criticized the NDC's silence on the anti-LGBTQ+ bill, questioning the government's commitment to good governance. He accused the administration of hypocrisy, saying that the NDC had made noise about galamsey under the NPP's government but was now allowing it to thrive, even in President Mahama's own constituency, Bole Bamboi.

“You made noise about galamsey under our government, but today, galamsey is everywhere—even in your backyard,” Kodua emphasized.

The General Secretary reaffirmed the NPP's readiness to return to power in 2028, but stressed the importance of discipline within the party. He warned aspirants against premature campaigning, saying that until nominations are officially opened, no one has the right to campaign.

Mr. Frimpong emphasized that personal ambition must never supersede the collective interest of the NPP. He called on party members to respect the party's structures and authority, saying that this was crucial for the party's success in the 2028 elections.
