Joseph Aidoo steps down as COCOBOD CEO

Accra, Ghana - 18 Jan, 2025 - Joseph Boahen Aidoo, the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), has officially resigned from his position, effective January 7, 2025.

This move follows a directive issued on January 13, 2025, regarding the cessation of all board memberships of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs).

In a letter to President John Dramani Mahama on January 16, Mr. Aidoo explained that his decision aims to ensure a seamless transition, allowing stakeholders and business partners to establish connections with the incoming leadership. Notably, his renewed mandate was initially set to expire in July 2025.

Mr. Aidoo reaffirmed his commitment to the cocoa sector and pledged support for the transition process. He also expressed gratitude to former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the opportunity to serve as COCOBOD's Chief Executive for the past eight years.

The Ghana Cocoa Board is a critical institution in Ghana's cocoa industry, and Mr. Aidoo's resignation marks a significant change in leadership.
