Accra, Ghana - 16 Feb, 2025 - Ghana's Bui Power Authority(BPA) has undergone a leadership transition, with Ing. Kow Eduakwa Sam taking the reins as the new Acting Chief Executive Officer.

This development follows a directive from President John Dramani Mahama, and marks the end of Hon. Ing. Samuel Kofi Ahiave Dzamesi's tenure, which began on September 3, 2021.

During the handover ceremony, Hon. Ing. Dzamesi expressed his gratitude to the BPA staff and emphasized the importance of teamwork and professionalism. He also commended the incoming CEO, describing him as a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the energy sector.

“I am delighted to hand over to Ing. Kow Eduakwa Sam, who comes with a wealth of experience from the energy sector. I am confident that he will build on the foundation we have laid and take BPA to even greater heights,” Hon. Dzamesi stated.

Ing. Kow Eduakwa Sam, in his response, pledged to build on the foundation laid by his predecessor and take BPA to greater heights. He highlighted the need for stakeholder consciousness in the power sector and encouraged young professionals to harness their creativity to drive the organization forward.

“I bring to BPA a wealth of experience and a commitment to firm, fair, and proactive leadership. The power sector is one that requires a high level of stakeholder consciousness, and I am determined to ensure that BPA remains responsive to the needs of all stakeholders,” Ing. Sam stated.

“I see a lot of young talent here, and I encourage you to ignite your innovative spirit. Together, we can position BPA as a leader in the energy sector and a blessing to our nation, Ghana,” he added.

Ing. Sam brings over 25 years of experience in strategic leadership, project management, and energy auditing to his new role. His impressive credentials include an MBA from the University of Ghana and postgraduate certificates from Duke University and the University of Pennsylvania.
