{In-Pictures}: Mahama Swears in New Armed Forces Council with VP Opoku-Agyemang as Chair

Jubilee House, Accra,Ghana - 24 March, 2025 - In a ceremony held at the Jubilee House, President John Dramani Mahama has sworn in a new team of distinguished individuals to lead Ghana's Armed Forces Council.
The council, established under Article 211 of the 1992 Constitution, plays a crucial role in providing strategic leadership and oversight to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).
The newly appointed members, selected from diverse professional backgrounds, bring extensive experience in governance, security, and public administration.
Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang will chair the council, which also includes notable members such as Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, and Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka.
As part of their mandate, the council will advise the President on matters of national defense, ensure the military's efficiency and adherence to democratic principles, and oversee the discipline and welfare of military personnel.
