'His Life Was an Expression of Patriotism' - Mahama Mourns Lt. Gen. Quainoo

Accra, Ghana - 07 Feb, 2025 - President John Dramani Mahama has paid tribute to the late Lt. Gen. Arnold Quainoo, praising his selfless dedication to national service and regional peacekeeping efforts.

President Mahama led tributes for the renowned military leader who served as Chief of Defence Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces.

Speaking at Lt. Gen. Quainoo's funeral rites in Accra, President Mahama described Lt. Gen. Quainoo as a symbol of patriotism and integrity, whose legacy should inspire Ghanaians to rediscover their love for country.

He noted that Lt. Gen. Quainoo belonged to a generation driven by a sense of duty and patriotism, rather than material wealth. He also expressed hope that the late general's exemplary life would serve as a model for future generations.

“He is the last of his generation that is past who believed in the love of country, they were not given into materialism. They were principled and they did things out of patriotism. It is very different from the generation today. Everything is driven by material wealth. So, as we gather to say farewell to this man, may his life be an inspiration, thus, we can recapture love for country and patriotism,” he stated.
