Hajia4Reall sentenced to 1year and 1day in the USA over Romance scam.

Popular Ghanaian socialite and musician Mona Faiz Montrage, also known as Hajia4Reall, has been sentenced to one year and one day in prison in the United States for her role in a romance scam.

 Hajia4Real was detained in the United Kingdom on November 11, 2022, after taking part in the Ghana Music Awards. She was then extradited to the United States in May 2023 to face trial.

The charges against her were based on her alleged involvement in a series of romance scams and other fraudulent acts totaling more than $2 million. She pled guilty to the charges in February 2024, facing a five-year sentence.

Following over a year of hearings, she was eventually condemned to one year and one day in prison on Friday, June 28.

 According to Inner City Press, the prosecution wanted a 37-month sentence for the accused, but the judge decided to be kind. "I sentence Ms. Montrage to one year and one day in prison, with the extra day to allow "good time," the judge said.
