“We will make ourselves available, we will come to you from time to time, and anytime that we are invited, we promise to be here to share our mind and to discuss the development of this nation together,” he aded.

The GPCC assured Mahama of its continued prayers and support, promising to make themselves available to discuss the development of the nation. In response, Mahama thanked the Council for its support, acknowledging that some of the decisions he would make during his tenure might be harsh, but would ultimately be in the best interest of the nation.

“Even though we have an overwhelming majority, we still have to build consensus in the way we approach things. I am sure the people of Ghana gave us a huge endorsement so that we can take the bold decisions necessary to be able to begin the reforms that this country urgently needs,'' he stated.

“Some decisions might be unpleasant, and it will all be in the national interest because sometimes you are sick and sometimes you have to take bitter medicine to get well,” he added.
